Early voting
Early voting runs Oct 16 through Oct 31, 2026, 9 AM to 6 PM on St. Croix and St. Thomas and 9 AM to 4 PM on St. John.
Races to watch
Voters will elect a governor (the current governor is term-limited), the territory's Delegate to the U.S. House, all 15 seats in the Virgin Islands Legislature, and the Board of Education. These offices shape local support for the University of the Virgin Islands.

HBCU news in the U.S. Virgin Islands

In May 2026, the Virgin Islands Legislature approved $2.3 million for the University of the Virgin Islands' free tuition program, which covers UVI's $500,000 spring semester debt plus the summer and fall semesters. (viconsortium.com)
