October 9, 2026. Oklahoma does not offer same-day registration. Online registration needs an Oklahoma driver license or state ID.
Early voting
In-person early voting is October 28-30 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and October 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Races to watch
The governor's seat is open because Gov. Kevin Stitt is term-limited. Voters also choose a lieutenant governor, attorney general, state superintendent of public instruction, all 101 state House seats, 24 of 48 state Senate seats and a U.S. senator. Ballot measures
  • State Question 847 Would lower the yearly cap on how fast a property's taxable value can rise, which affects the property taxes that help fund schools.

The underfunding letter

In 2023, the U.S. Departments of Education and Agriculture wrote to the governor of Oklahoma. Their numbers show Langston University got about $419 million less in state money from 1987 to 2020 than it would have with the same per-student funding as the state's original land-grant university.

HBCU news in Oklahoma

In 2025, the Oklahoma Legislature gave Langston University $10,125,000 for repairs and upkeep on its three campuses for the 2026 fiscal year, after passing Senate Bill 1169 to raise Langston's share of the state's deferred maintenance money. (langston.edu)
