- Early voting
- Early in-person and absentee voting began October 6, 2026; polls are open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on November 3.
- Races to watch
- The governor's seat is open because Gov. Mike DeWine is term-limited. Lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, auditor and treasurer are also on the ballot, along with all 99 state House seats, 17 of 33 state Senate seats and a special election for U.S. Senate. The governor and legislature set funding for Central State University.
- Ballot measures
- Issue 3, Require Voter Identification Amendment Would put a photo ID requirement for in-person voting into the state constitution and set ID rules for absentee voters.
HBCU news in Ohio
In June 2026, Ohio lawmakers put about $29 million for Central State University renovations in the state's capital budget, but the money can be released only after a state agency gets oversight of the campus facilities. No other public college got that condition. (signalakron.org)
